Here is some information on local hotels. We recommend staying near the campus and making reservations as soon as possible.

In the Johns Hopkins Area

With any of these, you’ll be within walking distance of the Hopkins campus. There are a handful of pubs and small places to eat in the area, and the Baltimore Museum of Art is within walking distance.

The rooms are very comfortable, nightly turndown is provided. There is also a complimentary shuttle to the Inner Harbor.

Mount Vernon

A $6-10, 10-15 minute cab ride to campus. A nice mid-town area with lots of higher-end restaurants, as well as some good little ones. Near the Walters Art Gallery, Charles Theater, and the Peabody Conservatory of Music.

This Mount Vernon-area hotel first opened in 1930.

Downtown and Fells Point

A $10-$15, 10-20 minute cab ride from campus. The Harbor has lots of shops and restaurants like Cheesecake Factory, Legal Seafoods, etc. Fells Point is smaller and less developed, with some smaller restaurants and plenty of bars and live music— one of the big locations for going out at night in Baltimore.

This modern nine-story hotel is one of the Inner Harbor area's best bargains, right near the Baltimore Arena if you are lucky enough to have Elton John or WWF come to town your weekend. Guest rooms offer standard chain-motel furnishings, outdoor heated pool, a patio courtyard, and a full-service restaurant. 250 rms. All major credit cards accepted. Parking $7.50.

Dating from 1928, this 19-story French Renaissance-style hotel, formerly the Radisson Plaza Lord Baltimore, is located in the heart of the city's theater and financial district. Guest rooms are furnished with dark woods, mirrored closets, and floral fabrics. Concierge and valet laundry services are available. Facilities include a cafe, bar, fitness center, and business center.

Located on the waterfront at Fells Point, this inn occupies the ground floor of a former B&O railroad warehouse dating from the 1800s, restored in 1991; the rest of the structure has been converted into a condominium development. The guest rooms, which face the water or the central courtyard with English-style gardens, are decorated with period reproduction furniture, paneled or brick walls, floral quilted fabrics, nautical art, and brass fixtures. Room service and valet laundry service are provided. Facilities include an exercise studio and a 220-slip marina, for those who prefer to arrive by boat.
